One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a return flight for two (2) people and one (1) dog from the Canadian airport that WestJet services which is closest to the winner's place of residence to any airport that WestJet services within Canada (approximate maximum retail value $3,535 based on round trip flights for two people and one dog between Whitehorse, YT and St. John's, NF). two regular class return tickets vouchers to anywhere Westjet flies in Canada including airfare for one (1) dog and valid for up to one (1) year. The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions, refunds, transfers or cash equivalent payment will be allowed. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a Prize (or any portion thereof) cannot be awarded for any reason.
Prize is valid towards new bookings only, made after the winner receives the prize. Prize is valid for travel one (1) year from the date of issue and cannot be booked more than 30 days prior to departure. Prize is not valid for any flights departing after such date and extensions to the expiry date are not permitted. Peak dates such as statutory holidays and airline blackout periods are not available for prize. Space may be subject to availability. Prize offered cannot be substituted for any other WestJet destination. Taxes, fees and other charges are the responsibility of the winner and his/her designated guest traveling and must be paid for at the time of booking with a valid credit card. Prize winner, his/her designated guest and dog must travel on the same itinerary in both directions. Prize winner must follow other restrictions set out at http://www.westjet.com/guest/en/travel/special-arrangements/pets.shtml in order for dog to travel.
Prize winner is responsible for transportation to and from the gateway airport and all other expenses not stated as included herein. Flights are subject to availability, blackout periods, government restrictions and regulations, airline, airport or other transportation restrictions and regulations. Travel arrangements must be made through the Sponsor. The Sponsor is not responsible for any delay, postponement, suspension, rescheduling or cancellation, for any reason, of any flight(s) forming part of the prize and winner will not be compensated in the event of such delay, cancellation or other event described herein. Winner and his/her guest must have, an are responsible for obtaining, all necessary identification and or travel documents and any required medical and travel related necessities. Changes to flights and or passenger names are not accepted, once the booking has been confirmed. Other restrictions may apply.
Prize and all prize elements are non-transferable (and without limiting the foregoing, the prize may not be sold or traded), must be taken as offered and cannot be substituted, redeemed or exchanged for cash, credit or alternative prizes, except in the Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize or component of the prize with a prize of equal or greater value. No credit or reimbursement will be provided if the prize is not taken. Prize cannot be combined with any other promotional offer or offers provided by the Sponsor.
The winner will be selected randomly by Canadian Dogs Annual at its Peterborough office on or about October 2, 2013 and will be announced on the front page of www.cdndogs.ca on or about October 10, 2013.
Before being declared a winner, selected entrant will be notified by email and will be required to sign and return within five (5) business days of notification a declaration of eligibility and a liability/publicity release, which: (i) confirms compliance with the Contest rules and accepts such prize as offered; (ii) releases the Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies (including each of their respective directors, officers, employees and/or agencies), WestJet, retailers, and advertising and promotion agencies from any and all liability relating to the selected entrant's participation in the Contest, participation in any Contest-related activity, or the acceptance/receipt/use/misuse of a prize; and (iii) grants Sponsor the unrestricted right to use selected entrant's name, address, voice, statements about the Contest and/or photograph or other likeness without further notice or compensation either during or after the Contest, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, worldwide including without limitation, print, broadcast, entertainment programming or the Internet. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted by email within five (5) business days, fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or fails to return the declaration/release within the specified time, he/she will forfeit the prize and the Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate entrant from all remaining eligible entries.
All entries become the property of the Sponsor, which assumes no responsibility whatsoever for lost, delayed, incomplete or misdirected entries. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited by law. By entering this Contest all entrants agree to the use and publication of their names, photographs and addresses in any advertising or publicity by Sponsor and Sponsor-related Parties, without compensation either during or after the Contest. The decisions of the Contest judges with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal. No correspondence in regard to this Contest will be entered into except with selected entrants. Entrants assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in the Contest or the acceptance or use/misuse of any prize and release Sponsor and the Sponsor-related parties from any and all liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind in connection therewith. Winning names can be obtained after October 15, 2013 and by December 31, 2013 by writing to Redstone Media Group, 160 Charlotte St Suite 202, Peterborough, ON K9H2T8 Attention: Marketing Manager.
Without limitation, the Sponsor and the Sponsor-related Parties will not be liable for any failure of the Website during the Contest; for any technical malfunction or other problems relating to the telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; for the failure of any entry to be received by the Sponsor and the Sponsor-related parties for any reason including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; or any combination of the above. Further, the Sponsor, and Sponsor-related Parties, will not be liable for any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading any material in the Contest.
In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an entry, online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the person who is assigned an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. If the identity of an online entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder associated with the email account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid online entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).
The Sponsor reserves the right at any time without notice to terminate, withdraw or amend this Contest in any way, for any reason, including without limitation, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, un authorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Rules. Any attempt to deliberately damage any micro site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Sponsor is legally required to ensure that all personal information disclosed to or received from third parties is appropriately used, disclosed and protected. Personal information is defined as any piece of information, about an identifiable individual but does not include the name, title, business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization. Sponsor will use any personal information only for purposes of administering the Contest. Entries will be retained for a reasonable period of time and as required by law following delivery of prizes under the Contest rules. By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the Contest, unless the entrant otherwise agrees.
